The Foetus Continues.

Blectum from Blechdom opened up, minus one member, so it was just Kevin (not Blevin) up there alone with some laptops and other electronic noisemakers and I was digging it, being somewhat familiar with their weird sound already, but the crowd was pretty thoroughly not digging it with me. I grabbed a table and some pints and settled down to listen and scan the crowd. There were all kinds of freaks, jocks, dot-com types, emo kids, oldschool early-90's style industrial goths, some crusty old punks and a lot of people who had obviously come from a great distance to see Foetus. As Kevin Blechdom played and screeched about her tits being on fire, I spied J.G. Thirlwell himself wandering around in the audience with his Guitarist, Howard Pyle. He seemed to be in to it, but not pissing himself in wonderment or anything. It's pretty cool that Foetus wanders around among his audience members and actually listens to his opening bands.

After Kevin finished, my 3 cohorts and I headed up and staked our claim on a prime spot up front, off to the right side of the stage. I was still paranoid about my camera, worried that I would get kicked out, hassled, or have my camera confiscated so I photographed the whole show without my flash, with mixed results. The crowd started to grow and everyone moved up to the front, all the really die-hard fans crammed in up front and waited impatiently for Foetus to make his big Foetus-Style dramatic entrance.
